We are a leading supplier and manufacturer of measurement and sensor technology. The group develops joysticks, tilt sensors, and many other components for almost all industrial sectors. For 75 years, the company has concentrated its expertise at its headquarters in Berlin. Together with three other plants in Brandenburg and Hesse, FSG employs more than 500 people.

The world's leading trade fair for agricultural machinery, AGRITECHNICA, has come to a close, and FSG Fernsteuergeräte is drawing a positive conclusion. From November 12th to 18th, the company presented its entire product range for use in agricultural machinery and systems in Hanover, including several new products.

The FSG booth at Agritechnica attracted considerable interest from trade visitors. FSG made a strong impression with its innovative LPR-2515 steering joystick: featuring a feedback unit and offering a wide range of functions, this joystick has the potential to set new standards in its class. The robust and durable foot pedals also garnered significant attention.

Steering joystick LPR-2515 for agricultural machinery – a true trade fair highlight

The LPR-2515 steering joystick developed by FSG opens up new possibilities for vehicle designers in the ergonomic design of the driver's cab. Eliminating the steering column with its bulky steering wheel improves forward visibility – a crucial factor for harvesting machines, where operators need to maintain optimal visibility of the header. The driver's seat can also be designed to rotate, for example, for tasks requiring a change in line of sight. The feedback unit provides precise feedback on wheel position to the driver. A future-oriented feature is the ability to individually adjust the steering response with different control profiles for light or heavy vehicles. Profiles can also be configured to provide varying levels of feedback to the driver depending on the payload and axle load.

Christian Schulz, FSG Managing Director: “Above all, the simple, intuitive controls impressed visitors to our booth. Some imagine the transition from a classic steering wheel will be difficult and are then surprised by how easy it actually is. Conversely, we received valuable suggestions and positive feedback in discussions with customers and partners. Our LPR-2515 truly has the potential to become a bestseller.”

Robust foot pedals for harsh agricultural use

FSG foot pedals have been used in numerous commercial and special-purpose vehicles for decades. They are distinguished by their modular and low-profile design, and the portfolio includes models with analog or digital signal output. FSG standard pedals utilize wear-free magnetic measuring systems designed with redundancy for safety-critical applications. Available interfaces include 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, CAN, CANopen, and CANopen safety.

The robust aluminum housing with a high IP protection rating (available up to IP67) withstands even extreme loads. FSG foot pedals are available as accelerator pedals, single pedals, or rocker pedals. Options such as additional springs for high actuation forces, rubber pads for extra secure grip, or angled pedal versions allow for numerous variations. Christian Schulz: "In addition to our comprehensive standard range, we always offer custom solutions perfectly tailored to our customers' needs. Thanks to our high level of vertical integration, even small production runs, one-off pieces, and prototypes can be realized quickly."

Valuable know-how for agricultural technology

In the construction machinery sector, FSG has long established itself as a market-leading manufacturer of sensors and control elements. Building on this expertise, FSG products also offer numerous possibilities for use in agricultural vehicles, as well as in modules, systems, and installations for agricultural technology. Many encoders are available in ATEX versions and are approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as in biogas production. Product families like the premium SL3000 series cable-extension sensors or the inductive PREMIUM joysticks with digital signal output (CAN, CANopen, or CANopen-safety) demonstrate their strengths in numerous agricultural applications. Rotary encoders, tilt encoders, and potentiometers round out the comprehensive product range that FSG presented at AGRITECHNICA 2023.
