We are a leading supplier and manufacturer of measurement and sensor technology. The group develops joysticks, tilt sensors, and many other components for almost all industrial sectors. For 75 years, the company has concentrated its expertise at its headquarters in Berlin. Together with three other plants in Brandenburg and Hesse, FSG employs more than 500 people.

As one of the leading system providers in the construction machinery sector, bauma 2022 (October 24–30) in Munich is a fixed date for FSG Fernsteuergeräte. At the world's largest exhibition for construction machinery, the company will present a comprehensive portfolio of sensor technology and operating devices – including several innovations.

Among the new products and developments that FSG is showcasing at bauma this year are three products in particular that have the potential to set new standards in their respective classes.

Wind gauge with integrated obstruction or hazard light

The anemometer combined with an LED obstruction light is now also available in an approved version as the AN60-GF2000 hazard light in various configurations. A key feature is the motorized tracking system, which automatically keeps the anemometer in a horizontal position at all times. The redundant lighting system ensures a constant luminous intensity of 2000 cd, making the device ICAO-compliant and suitable for use near airports at altitudes of 100 meters and above.

This unique combination of LED light unit and anemometer solves the problem of shading inherent in conventional combined systems: Depending on the positioning of both devices, either the light signal or the anemometer's star-shaped indicator is shaded by the other element, leading to measurement errors or reduced visibility. The design developed by FSG – with the light signal positioned at the bottom as a base for the wind turbine – resolves this issue.

Steering joysticks for construction machinery

Joysticks are increasingly taking over the traditional function of steering wheels when controlling construction machinery. Using multiple function keys, they combine a multitude of additional functions, thus improving ergonomics in the cockpit and reducing workload.

In addition to its current joystick program for the modern and intuitive control of construction machinery, FSG is showcasing its own developed and patented model, the LPR-2515-X-MH-II, featuring a force feedback system. Motorized systems transmit the machine's current steering position to the joystick, providing the operator with direct feedback. The device has proven itself in demanding practical applications for three years, and FSG is aiming for road approval in the medium term.

Also on display at bauma is the latest and revised version of FSG's LCD joystick: While the improved resolution of the illuminated ring enables more precise visual feedback, the further developed vibration motor provides the operator with finely tuned haptic feedback adapted to the respective work situation. Customer-specific configuration of the display content can be conveniently carried out via a CAN bus interface.

New Draw Wire Sensor series

At bauma, FSG is presenting a new series of its proven Draw Wire Sensors. It combines the robust design of the premium SL3000 series with the compact, slim dimensions and low weight of the BASIC SL00 series. The new series can be used wherever installation space is limited and where high mechanical stress cannot be ruled out.

The protective metal housing offers numerous mounting options as standard; supplemented by a variety of different pulleys, even more diverse installation variations can be implemented. A standard feature of all FSG cable-extension sensors is that they are perfectly matched to FSG's own Rotary Encoders, but also deliver outstanding performance and precision when equipped with standard sensors from other manufacturers. Since the sensor can be mounted on either side, it integrates seamlessly into any application.

Visitors to bauma will find the FSG remote control devices stand in Hall A2, stand number 227. The FSG team looks forward to speaking personally with partners, customers and interested parties.
