At bauma, FSG Fernsteuergeräte GmbH, a company specializing in high-quality measurement and sensor technology, will present a cross-section of its robust sensors and operating devices for use in construction machinery in Hall A2.226. Among the new products are force feedback functions for joysticks and foot pedal encoders, providing machine operators with tactile feedback. Force feedback can be used for classic parameters such as force, displacement, angle, or adjustment speed, as well as theoretically for simulating vibration or shock effects. This makes the technology suitable for virtually all applications requiring intuitive operation. Typical examples include crane steering, bucket operation on excavators and wheel loaders, and lifting and lowering loads in the transport sector – as well as pedals equipped with force feedback to simulate different operating forces and thus provide a realistic feel. Feedback functions where the perceived resistance varies depending on the application can be implemented with minimal effort. More complex dynamic feedback systems convert the values from, for example, Rotary Encoders or other sensors into a tactilely perceptible counterforce in real time. For the required parameterization of the force feedback system, FSG can draw on its wide range of linear and angular encoders as well as Inclination Sensors. The robust, ergonomic joysticks of the ST series are available as single- or dual-axis encoders with various lever deflections, designs, and configurations, as well as foot pedals of the FS series. Joysticks and pedals are equipped with wear-free magnetic or inductive measuring systems and are also available with redundant electronics for safety-related applications according to IEC 61508 SIL or ISO 13849 PL.
