We are a leading supplier and manufacturer of measurement and sensor technology. The group develops joysticks, tilt sensors, and many other components for almost all industrial sectors. For 75 years, the company has concentrated its expertise at its headquarters in Berlin. Together with three other plants in Brandenburg and Hesse, FSG employs more than 500 people.

FSG's innovative sensors and control elements are used in many commercial and special-purpose vehicles, including joysticks. In the agricultural sector, the LPR-2515 steering joystick developed by FSG opens up new possibilities for agricultural vehicle manufacturers. Ergonomics in the driver's cab are improved, and workload is reduced.

The FSG LPR-2515 is already successfully used in construction machinery. It also offers a wide range of applications for specialized vehicles in agriculture and forestry, as the advantages of the steering joystick over the traditional steering wheel are compelling. For example, eliminating the need for a steering column and a bulky steering wheel improves visibility in the direction of travel – a crucial factor for harvesting machines, where operators need to maintain a clear view of the header.

Without a steering wheel, valuable space is gained in the driver's cab for other components, instruments, or displays. The driver's seat can also be designed to swivel, for example, for tasks requiring a change in line of sight: even then, the vehicle remains steerable, because the steering joystick integrated into the seat's armrest moves with it – unlike a rigid, fixed steering column. Last but not least, a steering joystick significantly improves ergonomics and reduces workload: frequent steering movements can be easily controlled with very few hand movements using the joystick. The seating position remains relaxed, and controlling the vehicle is noticeably easier and less tiring.

Feedback dynamically adapted to vehicle and mass

The LPR-2515 features motorized adjustment units that generate clearly perceptible impulses and transmit them to the handle. This provides the driver with precise feedback on the steering position. Furthermore, it's possible to configure different control profiles for the FSG joystick. The effect: In small, light vehicles, the device provides correspondingly less intense feedback than in heavy vehicles or agricultural machinery. Dynamic profiles are also available, which react to the same vehicle's payload and axle load, delivering varying levels of feedback to the joystick handle. Even if the LPR-2515's feedback unit fails, the vehicle's steering capability remains fully intact.

Nominated for the SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS Trophy 2023

FSG has entered its LPR-2515 steering joystick in the SYSTEMS & COMPONENTS Trophy 2023. This competition, initiated by the German Agricultural Society (DLG), recognizes outstanding innovations exhibited at the AGRITECHNICA trade fair, with an international jury awarding prizes. The LPR-2515 is just such a product: it has the potential to set new standards in its class, and FSG is confident of achieving a top ranking in this prestigious competition.

FSG at AGRITECHNICA 2023

At the world's leading trade fair for agricultural technology AGRITECHNICA (November 12 to 18 in Hanover), FSG will be showcasing many other innovative solutions and new products for use in agricultural machinery and implements in Hall 17, Stand F35, alongside the LPR-2515 steering joystick.
