Following the market success of the SL00-R-GS80 cable-extension sensor, FSG has expanded its portfolio of compact length measurement technology with a second size. These robustly built devices are suitable for outdoor use and deliver precise measurement data even under harsh conditions. With the new SL00-R-GS130 variant, users now have access to a device with a measuring length of up to 7 meters.

With the new, second size, FSG is responding to customer demand for a further variant of the SL00-R cable-extension sensor with a measuring length exceeding the previously possible 3 meters that the SL00-R-GS80 can detect. To meet the high demand for the SL00-R with longer measuring lengths, FSG will expand this series into a production run.

Typical applications are found primarily in mobile cranes, forestry machines and
-vehicles, agricultural technology, and rail transport. Wherever precise measurement data is required, the outdoor working environment demands a robust design, and compact dimensions are essential, the SL00-R series devices demonstrate their strengths.

The protective, robust housing of the SL00-R is made of V2A stainless steel and offers a variety of mounting options on all sides for maximum flexibility when installing the sensor. A strong return spring (approximately 50% stronger than the FSG SL00 BASIC) reduces cable sag, and the cable itself is also very robust and durable.

The high degree of flexibility regarding mounting, cable routing, encoder selection, and signal output configuration is a unique selling point and the core concept of the SL00-R series. For example, a rotary encoder can be optionally mounted on either side of the housing, allowing the cable routing to be oriented left or right as needed. If required, the cable can also be guided in any desired direction using a 360° pulley (optional accessory).

The SL00-R series sensors are optimally matched to FSG rotary encoders, but can also be equipped with standard encoders from other manufacturers. All common signal outputs are supported.

Other measuring lengths possible

FSG will expand the SL00-R series with additional sizes offering greater measuring lengths as soon as there is customer interest. Thanks to its high level of vertical integration and extensive expertise in cable-extension sensors and length measurement, FSG can respond quickly to market changes.
