With the MH64-II-CAN(MU) series multiturn Rotary Encoder, sensor specialist FSG offers a compact and cost-effective sensor for angle measurement, even in safety-critical applications of category PLd. The 160g lightweight device in an aluminum housing is equipped with a redundant Hall sensor capable of detecting up to 64 rotations. Thanks to its compact design, the sensor is suitable for a wide range of applications in construction machinery, mobile elevating work platforms, and as a Rotary Encoder for cable-operated length measurement systems. Signal output is via a CAN bus interface using the CANopen or CANopen safety protocol. With its internal signal monitoring and fault detection, the sensor is also suitable for safety-critical applications of category PLd. Alternatively, a 4-20mA interface is available, enabling the sensor to meet category PLc. The Rotary Encoder, with IP67 protection, is designed for a temperature range of -30°C to +80°C and features a shock resistance of 25g and a vibration resistance of 4g. The Rotary Encoder can also be configured as a single-turn version. Electrical connection is made either via an M12 connector or cable.
