We are a leading supplier and manufacturer of measurement and sensor technology. The group develops joysticks, tilt sensors, and many other components for almost all industrial sectors. For 75 years, the company has concentrated its expertise at its headquarters in Berlin. Together with three other plants in Brandenburg and Hesse, FSG employs more than 500 people.
FSG Rotary Encoders are used worldwide in a wide variety of applications, characterized by high precision, reliability, and a long service life. FSG's sensor experts have developed a new model of the MH609 analog miniature Rotary Encoder. Its special feature: the rotation angle can be freely programmed by the user using FSG's proprietary software.
Thanks to its compact dimensions, the proven MH609 series miniature Rotary Encoder is particularly suitable for use where space is limited. Typical applications include control units for construction machinery, as well as drive switches and operating devices for the rail and ship industries.
In cooperation with a Norwegian shipbuilding company, FSG has developed the new programmable model MH609-P. It is used in the control lever for the ship's rudder system and, with appropriate programming by the user, adapts precisely to the lever travel.
The technical data and features of the MH609-P at a glance:
Miniature Rotary Encoder (analog) with redundant Hall sensor
Detectable angular ranges 0 – 360°
Rotation angle freely programmable by the user up to 360°
Ideal for position detection in joysticks, command transmitters or drive switches.
Interface for signal output: selectable 4–20 mA, 0.5–4.5 V or CANopen
The operating principle for the new analog model is derived from the FSG miniature Rotary Encoder MH605, in which the angle range can also be programmed by the user to any angle up to 360°.
Without this programmability, the Rotary Encoder would be limited to a fixed rotation angle, suitable for only one specific application and potentially leading to compromises in resolution and precision. Furthermore, programming allows the same Rotary Encoder model to be used for various applications with different rotation angles: Reducing the number of different encoders to a single programmable device like the MH609-P saves time and money.
