We are a leading supplier and manufacturer of measurement and sensor technology. The group develops joysticks, tilt sensors, and many other components for almost all industrial sectors. For 75 years, the company has concentrated its expertise at its headquarters in Berlin. Together with three other plants in Brandenburg and Hesse, FSG employs more than 500 people.

The entire FSG trade fair team is ready and excited to finally be exhibiting at an in-person trade fair again after almost two years at SPS in Nuremberg from November 23 to 25, 2021. Marketing Director Daniel Hahn is certain: "Not just us, but the entire industry needs personal interaction. Industry professionals are eager to finally discuss sensor technology topics face-to-face again." FSG has prepared not only with product innovations, but also with a larger booth in Hall 4A and a new concept. "Of course, people approach large events with a different mindset these days," explains Hahn. "We've not only revamped the product presentation, but also created more open and well-ventilated areas for discussions. This way, safety and personal communication go hand in hand." In addition to the comprehensive FSG portfolio of rotary encoders, potentiometers, tilt sensors, and joysticks, two new developments will be presented. Two in one – top-level innovation: In close collaboration with customers, FSG developed a wind sensor with an integrated LED obstruction light. This innovative design not only saves space at the highest point of cranes or similar structures, but also offers significant advantages: reduced installation and maintenance effort, improved visibility, and greater accuracy, as the two devices are no longer affected by wind or light shadows. Furthermore, costs are lowered because only one component is required. The wind sensor with obstruction light has an IP66 protection rating and complies with all relevant regulations and standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the General Administrative Regulation for the Marking of Aviation Obstacles (AVV). Therefore, it can be used without restriction for marking aviation obstacles such as cranes, wind turbines, or buildings. Its use is recommended wherever both components are used together. The red obstruction light has a luminous intensity of 10 or 32 cd (red), and the magnetic wind sensor measures wind speeds from 0 to 50 m/s. The combination is powered by 18-33 VDC, and analog signals or a CAN bus are available as signal outputs. New cable pull concept reduces wear. FSG will also present a new cable pull sensor for the first time, which, thanks to its new concept, operates with significantly less wear and achieves more operating cycles than conventional cable pull sensors. This significantly increases the sensor's service life and thus its reliability. The result is less maintenance and fewer failures. "During development, the focus was particularly on bearing systems with long operating times, dynamic processes, and longer measuring lengths," explains FSG Managing Director Christian Schulz, outlining the potential applications.
