We are a leading supplier and manufacturer of measurement and sensor technology. The group develops joysticks, tilt sensors, and many other components for almost all industrial sectors. For 75 years, the company has concentrated its expertise at its headquarters in Berlin. Together with three other plants in Brandenburg and Hesse, FSG employs more than 500 people.

Home game! As a leading manufacturer of sensor technology headquartered in the German capital, FSG will be showcasing its portfolio of high-performance products for rail transport at InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin (September 24-27). These include Inclination Sensors, potentiometers, Rotary Encoders, cable-extension sensors, and innovative operating devices.

This year, the focus at the FSG booth (Hall 27, Stand 321) will be on these models in particular: the compact miniature Rotary Encoders MH609-II-P and MH609-II-CAN, the new Draw Wire Sensor model SL00-R and the gyro-stabilized Inclination Sensor PE-MEMS-XY-CAN-G-GS70.

Inclination Sensors with MEMS and gyro stabilization

The models in the Premium Series PE-MEMS-XY-CAN-G-GS70 compensate for and filter out vibrations and shocks, calculate them, and deliver precise tilt data based on this information. Thanks to the microelectromechanical system (MEMS), which includes an electronic accelerometer, tilts are detected with high accuracy. A second sensor, an electronic gyroscope, ensures the required precision even under challenging operating conditions. FSG Inclination Sensors of this series are used in practice, among other applications, in the tilt technology of high-speed trains. In special-purpose vehicles, such as those used in track construction or railway maintenance, they ensure the required accuracy in very demanding applications.

Robust and compact – SL00-R Draw Wire Sensor

The SL00-R Draw Wire Sensor is also used in track construction and maintenance work. Here, this new development from FSG shines, for example, as part of the equipment for special-purpose rail vehicles: As a length measurement system, the sensor ensures the perfect alignment of rail grinding tools and similar equipment. Advantages of the SL00-R series include its compact dimensions, slim and very robust design, and versatile housing mounting options. This benefits designers of special-purpose vehicles and offers them considerable design flexibility.

Miniature Rotary Encoders for driver switches

The newly developed MH609-II-P analog miniature Rotary Encoder from FSG is particularly suitable for use in confined spaces. Typical applications include control units, traction controllers, and other operating devices for rail vehicles. Its redundant design ensures reliability. A key feature of the MH609-II-P is that the user can freely program the rotation angle using FSG's proprietary software. This allows the same Rotary Encoder model to be used for various applications with different rotation angles: reducing the number of different encoders to a single programmable device like the MH609-II-P saves time and money. The MH609-II-CAN variant of the miniature Rotary Encoder offers two CANopen interfaces.

FSG at InnoTrans 2024 (September 24-27)

At the leading international trade fair for transport technology, FSG will be showcasing its entire portfolio alongside the aforementioned highlights, including innovative control devices such as joysticks and foot pedals. The FSG team looks forward to meeting partners, customers, and interested parties at booth 321 in hall 27.
